Disaster Waiting to Happen.
At the rear of Heights Drive, (Old Maryborough 
Rd, near the water tower) is development Skyline Terrace, I have photographed it with a metre deep of water 30 metres wide going through the gully.
I have wasted the councils time on countless occasion’s trying to bring some sanity to this development. I have had support from the two other musketeers but the numbers are always against us.
So now the little housing blocks are being laid out and salesmen will be selling premium housing blocks on high ground at elevated prices. Little will the home buyer realise that there little piece of paradise will be built on 5 metres of fill.
Yes, the gully has been filled and the 30 metre by 1 metre creek has been put into, at most, a 1 metre pipe. It is a disaster waiting to happen, once the pipe fills up, the water will find its own way down the hill, at speed and it will take soil and fill with it. In some nearby problem areas, it has caused caves and undermined peoples homes. Every time these problem are raised at the Council table the ‘Rubber Stamp Gang’ or Micks Voting Slaves reiterate Micks infamous words, “Buyer Beware”.
I believe that we all are responsible to our community for what we leave for the next generation. It might not rain hard for another 20 years but one day we will have the same rainfall that fell at Beerwah in 1893, 907 millimeters in one day and 812 mm in a 12 hour period at Rainbow Beach in August 2007. Devastating for people if these conditions contribute to landslides as occurred in Thredbo NSW some years ago, when a storm-water pipe failed. 
Let us hope these events never happen in our community but unless the forethought and planning are investigated. Why place lives and fortunes at risk, vigilance is cheap failure is expensive.
