Time Wasters = Councils View of Issues of NO Importance

“Time Wasters’. was a jibe used by the ‘Status Quo’ Councillors and media during the 2004 to 2008 term of Council, it was used often to describe the representation given to individual residents who have a problem with the Council that needs rectification and assistance. Some of the names may be familiar to you, the residents of Lydon Court, the residents of Castlereagh St, the residents of Heights Drive, the residents of Achilles Court, the residents of Lake Glen Elgin Estate, the residents of Mc Phial St. This page is still under construction but the right hand group of titles will soon enclose letters, reports and photographs of the problems experienced by Gympie’s residents whose problems were written off by the ‘Rubber Stamp Gang,’ with the words, “Time Wasters”. In those times, all day Tuesday was allocated for Council meetings, more often than not the general and Committee meetings were finnished by 2 pm, when it get towards 3 pm many of the councillors have already left the table. In four years I can only recall the meeting lasting to 5 pm, due to visiting guests supplying presentations, so why was the cry of ‘Time Wasting’? Is it just because they want to go home early? Or they do not want to face the embarrassment of the subject? These problems have never been properly addressed and are now combined with another four years of mistakes, Meetings are on a Wednesday and finish very quickly.

Speaking your truth, even though it might create conflict or tension.
Behaving in ways that are in harmony with your personal values.
Making choices based on what you believe, and not what others believe.
