Why Would The Richest Shire have the Poorest Roads?

I have a Question from many residents of the Shire to Cr Petersen areducedbridgecrk11.jpgthe Chairman of Finance.

They ask me Why would the richest Shire have the poorest Roads.
In the GT, 17 May 2007 p 4 Cr Petersen said
“Its lonely at the top. The assessment also considers forecast capital works which in our case involves more than 200 million over the next ten years, with only 15 % to be funded from borrowing’s.”
They are the Petersen Millions,

In the Financial Summary Report, Fund Balance as of 31st May adopted at the General meeting 26th June 2007, it states Consolidated Operating Fund $54,151,290.48
Last week, I asked for the Truth, I asked? Does the Shire have 54 million in the bank? Is it sustainable?
Last week in the GT 28th June 2007,
Cr Petersen said. The Owen Millions did not exist.
If we do not have the millions it is false representation.

If Councils does have the millions.
Why does Cr Petersen and the Mayor Vote to Keep roads that destroy, lives and property?
In GT, 17 May2007 p 4
Ian Petersen, states “Its current Gold plated assessment from the Queensland Treasury Corporation. Ian Petersen trumpets his shire’s gold plated financial performance.
Ian Petersen, credited Cooloola new recognition as the state’s best run shire financially”,
He was referring to the Shires top rating in a statewide sustainablitiy assessment conducted by the Queensland Treasury. “Its lonely at the top.” The assessment also considers forecast capital works which in our case involves more than 200 million over the next ten years, with only 15 % to be funded from barrowings.
We the undersigned (please sign if you agree) believe that the Shires roads Rural and Urban, sealed pot holes with Gravel or Without are a danger to the lives and security of the residents.
As Cr Ian Petersen is the Chair of the Shires Finance and Administration Committee, states, “the Shire is guilt edged and has $200 million to spend” or the few the Gts states “Owen millions” don’t exist and if “we begin to address the road problem we are facing bankruptcy.” Cr Petersen is either blatantly dishonest or totally deficient of understanding finance. Please restore credibility in the Cooloola Shire Council and either begin to address the deplorable conditions of our roads or admit that your mal administration of the Shires finances have placed our Shire in the deplorable situation, where it is apparent that the roads are deteriorating at a quicker rate than they can be replaced.
